Well, yes. I mean, wouldn't that have meant sacrificing his life for a good cause, rather than supporting genocide and ethnic cleansing? Sounds like martyrdom to me. And as I understand it, martyrdom is pretty important in the whole Catcholic religion. No, you're absoloutely right. Let's choose a former Hitler supporter to be the holiest man on the planet and lead people to do God's work. Yes, great idea. Too bad Bin Laden's not Catholic, he could have been the next pope. He seems to be a highly religious man too, as long as we don't look at any of his non-political life choices. The Rizen shloemoe wrote:Oh much better....So what your saying is that the church shouldassholitis wrote:Here let ol shloe put some line control charactors inThe Rizen shloemoe wrote:hm?...I think if I was a kid in nazi germany...i'da been in the hitler youth

Let's choose?...The assension to the papacy is determined by a
high ecclesiastic body(college of cardinals er bishops) that has
historically been assumed to be guided by the holy spirit.
...I would not presume...that's why your critique of the process
is amusing.
Christianity is about redemtion...conceivably a murderer could
become a saint...but then how would you know that, you've

Ah, then. Why not just let a convicted murderer/born-again Christian become Pope? I mean, if it's really about redemption, something like murder shouldn't make a difference. While that's a nice theory on a small-scale, as individual Catholics, it doesn't make much sense that the holiest man in all of Catholicism was formerly alligned with a party responsible for one of the worst forms of genocide in history, does it? Sure, I can understand that a big part of Catcholicism is about forgiving, but how about we at least choose a Pope who hasn't comitted any murders or genocide? Is that really too much to ask? The only reason this pope got by is because it was a deep, dark secret that he was formerly aligned with the Hitler Youth. But if the Catcholic Church had announced that an infamous, formerly convicted felon who killed a man was the new pope, Catcholics around the world would riot. Regardless of redemption and forgiveness, you at least want the Pope, of all people, to be as holy and religious and pure as any mortal human can be.The Rizen shloemoe wrote:Let's choose?...The assension to the papacy is determined by a

And, come now, Shloe. Do you honestly believe that politics play no role in choosing the new pope? Even a self-admitted dunce like yourself can't be that naive.
And since you like to accuse me of never having read a book...let me clarify something for you.
The Pope is Catholic, not Christian, you fucking idiot. Try reading that in any children's book on religion before you attack my knowledge. Maybe Religion for Dummies? Or in your case, Religion for Completely Braindead Buffoons. The Rizen shloemoe wrote:Christianity is about redemtion

Oh where to start?....How would you define "as holy and religous and
pure as any mortal can be"?...that's so childlike ...can you define
piety asshole?...you've never read the "Euthyphro" have you?
Google it...read it...come out into the light grasshopper.
Yes The College of cardinals votes for who's gonna be pope.
that's political yes...but within the context of that political function
it is thought that god hand plays a major role...it's considered a
magical thing...this topic is resolved.
A funny note to all this is that some of history's most evil men were
popes. ALEXANDER VI is a good example...So historically popes
have never been holy ...they come out of a political process
but again...to the believers it is thought that the hand of god is
at work....Never read about all the evil popes?...good stuff asshole.
catholics riotously regecting a pope...boy you dont understand
what you talking about...of all the christian faiths, catholics defer
to authority the most...they're not gonna reject nuthin.
Oh and christian just means that one "follows" christ....That's all!
therefore all catholics are christians...the term catholic is a subset of
christian...."idiot"...that's a funny term...no I wont go into that
wher the word idiot came from again...(sigh of relief is heard among
the jackers)
as always ass it's a pleasure helping you in your studies...but you
really should read more...I would recomend reading the "Euthyphro"

Childlike? You mean like believing in a religion where an all knowing invisible being created our world and his son, who was capable of miracles, died from our sins and rose from the dead? Yeah, I wonder where I would get a child-like attitude about religion with that kind of "mature" logic. Probably the biggest aspect of most religions is faith. Faithfully believing in the story of religion, which, if you live past the age of 5, seems a bit silly. The Rizen shloemoe wrote:Oh where to start?....How would you define "as holy and religous and

I love how you call my logic as "childlike" and then you go ahead and use this exact phrase.
A "magical" thing. Yeah, that's not childlike at all. Unless you're talking about a box of Lucky Charms or Mickey Mouse's Castle. I don't see how choosing a man who is holy and religious and pure is any more childlike than a "magical" process in which "God has a hand" in selecting the pope. It's ALL politics, Shloe. If you still don't believe so, go and look up gullible in the dictionary. It's apparently not in there, but you prove me wrong. The Rizen shloemoe wrote:it's considered a magical thing...
And there is a difference between Catholics and Christians. True, they are similar, and even have similar roots, however, if you called any devout Catholic a "Christian," they'd be quite offended. Not to mention, the man that's singlely identified as being the leader of Catcholicism is the Pope. Therefore, for you to start discussing Christianity just seemed funny.
As for "evil" popes, those were hundreds of years ago. Some of those date back to eras such as the Roman Empire, when things were radically different than the way they are now. Even with the wars of today, there is the belief that Rome has become more civilized and less barbaric. At least in theory, whether or not it's true is a different matter entirely. Therefore, in a supposed civilized era, I raise the question again. Why allow a Pope who has had ties with Nazism? Yes, there were evil men before him, but the hope is that we have learned from mistakes in the past. And as for your brilliant statement that "they're not gonna reject nuthin," are you saying that if they announced as gay, black woman as the next Pope, Catholics would simply support the decision? I think not. Which is why as much as "God's hand" has in the decision-making, it is ultimately a political decision based on one's actions and beliefs.
As for reading more, I've said it before, I'll say it again. It would take the rest of your life time (depending on whether or not you shorten it by overdosing on your goofy pills) to learn the knowledge I had by the time I was 21, much less the knowledge I have now. I was reading Socrates long before you decided to get a library card and check out a book. The fact that you had to announce how tired you were just from writing that short entry demonstrates how mentally feeble you truly are. After that many syllables, I wouldn't be surprised if you took a week off to rest your fragile little mind. With every post, you get a little bit more senile and look that much more foolish at the end of the day. Maybe your daughter should start posting here instead and give daddy a break from the computer. I imagine that even at her young age, she'd probably have wiser and more stimulating conversation than you've been able to muster. Let's hope psychosis skips a generation.
