Nominate Worst Indie Songs of the Year 2005
Living Things "Bom Bom Bom"
What the hell is this, indie's answer to Hansen's "M-bop"?

I love the Madness song 'cause I love Madness.
Indie Rock n' Roll is the worst song ever.
Fuck off, Juice Box isn't The Strokes' best song, but it's way better than a lot of the shit out there.... besides, Tegan and Sara sound like really really boring chipmunks. Oh, have you seen the video yet?
Sure, Green Day sucked in 2004 too, but they still suck in 2005... yeah they sucked in the 90's too. Worst band ever.
I also nominate Weezer's 90201.... and all new Weezer.

I agree with "Bom Bom Bom" It's so boring. One of the few songs that makes me turn the channel. And "City Of Blinding Lights" by U2. So bland and generic sounding. Yes, I know the CD came out in 2004 but I didn't hear the song until 2005 because I didn't buy the cd. I'm so over U2 but I still like Green Day. I still listen to "American Idiot". I just skip past the songs that have been played to death, like the title track & "Boulevard".
I'm in shape! Round is a shape!
ugh
I actually agree with Kristee. Walking with a Ghost by Tegan and Sara wins hands down.
I kinda dislike Franz Ferdinand's The Fallen, too, though, but not as much.

Loving ALL of Indie's shows, especially the guys they've been having in the morning!

dude, i thought i was the only one that though that song totally sucked. i mean it was "OK" the first time i heard. i have no problem with Indie giving a song a shot and then never playing it again. but this song gets played SO much and it's SO bad.
the thing that gets me is that the song repearts the SAME exact riff through the whole monotonous song. and then on top of that i have heard that riff before but cant remember where. god at least be original... then he takes the Stray cats "we're gonna rock this town" and changes it to "we're gonna SHAKE this town till broad daylight"... im like oh man, how weak.
he does change to a very simple chord progression during the chorus but i think that only happens once.

Last weekend I just bought a 2004 record by THe Briefs called "sex Object" (I guess it was released before "Getting Hit on at the Bank) and it really good. I went through the album 2 x no problem, pretty solid. Stand out song is "Killed by Ants". Reminds me of Buzzcocks a bit with the good humor & probably a bit more punkish than I was expecting but really good stuff all the same.

Worst song of 2005 = That whiney, soft song that got overplayed by not one, but two radio stations. Yes, I'm referring of course to Death Cab for Cutie's Soul Meets Body. Death Cab for Cutie - Making teenage girls feel indie since 1998.
And yeah, Weezer needs to get back to their old roots. The only thing worse than some of the new songs off their last album are the accompanying videos.

Hey...maybe that's why Tom is so fond of squirrels...they remind him of chipmunks, which then reminds him of T&S....

A most played out song
I'm kinda getting tired of the song that goes "Oh brother I can't, I can't walk out" or something. I forget the lyrics. It's a cool song but it's gotten a lot of airplay.
