Yeah...pretty much all that for putting defenseless animals in a bag to die......

That's not it at all....I am a cat and dog owner...and there are options out there for pets that might be unwanted....being cruel to a domesticated household pet is immoral...in my humble opinion....

With regards to cattle and other livestock...I am omnivorous Annie...and unappologetic about that fact....My food choices are just that...food choices....I would no more skin and eat a cat or dog than I would spit on your foot....
