As a former member of the Jones blog I have to say all we are hearing here are opinions and the best theory which is forgotten now is that Rotter (sorry Rott) and naughty words got the blog closed.

Rotter by his own admission was thrown off every SINGLE board he joined. PIL slung him off, Sexpistols.net slung him off. Steve kicked him off his friends on myspace.

Then in the wake of the funeral cortege came the blogstars at myspace, at last a place where former bloggers could join together and not to have to worry about for example the pelicanism when some joker thought it would be funny to steal bloggers idents and pretend to be them. That can never happen here.

The real reason why the blog closed was simply this:

Indie were unwillingly to invest time or money in a login model which would have secured the blog and blocked unwanted posters.

Shovel himself said that he found it difficult to find any reference to anything pertaining to the shows themselves - just reams and reams of useless chat. Mea culpa

Blogstars was the logical result of Indie's stance towards the Jonesy's Jukebox blog.

But as the song says no one is innocent.

This was the post that pie and peas (a jb blogger) sent from Shovel explaining why the blog was no more.

Until we get easy access to banning people, you may be better off finding a different place to chat.
