My mother used to tell me the story of that day....

She was with her high school bf, a guy names Jerry...at a Tasty Freeze in Brea (which is now a car wash)...sitting in my great grandmother's 1955 Ford...when the news came over the radio that Richie Valens....The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly had been killed...

Did you know that Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on that plane but he gave up his seat to..I think the Big Bopper...because he was sick....

Freebird is self indulgent guitar solology but I like it and Sweet home Alabama too.

Weren't they named after Leonard Skinner?

Cheerio.

I think he has got a point though Shloemoe. a lot of people associated Leonard Skinner with greasers, grebos, bikers, patchouli and long hair totally unlike spiky Discharge or UK Decay or The Disrupters etc.

There's a great live version of FREEBIRD somewhere. Showcased on the OLd Grey Whistle Test - a legendary music prog on BBC2.

But there is no accounting for taste. Anyones.

1 person's cream puff is another person's keech.

I rest my case in a fairlyunconvincing Scottish manner.

Cause they were all that...If they'da ever met the sex pistols in a bar
there would'a been a fight....aint saying it's right....Im not discounting chispa's criticism...I think it's funny...a spainard saying they dont like lynard skynyrd...They were'nt really going for universal appeal....
Long live the south!

I never liked "freebird" god did that ever become cliche...I think it
was a tribute to one of the Allman Brothers that died

Xenophobic?...hell yes...I'm American...gays make me a little
uncomfortable too...does that make me gay? :?

Racist?...to be perfectly honest...sometimes...I usually root it out'a
my head eventually...There's no logical basis for believing one race
is superior to another...I might get like that when I see the Japanese
kill whales and dolphins n stuff...but then I realize it aint cause of
their race...it cause of their culture...now Shloemoe is a culturalist
...some cultures are superior to others...care to be a woman in the moslem world...nuff said..

I just hate people too :D

it is easy to change of opinion
although it is for a moment depending
on the events that we see.
I am not prepared for great discussions in this language but I understand to you .....
you make me think sometimes....thats right :)
