Shloemoe's sad view of greatness....

Post by The Rizen shloemoe »

A few years back ol Shloe was hopelessly caught
up in the meth. My connection, while claiming to
be my friend, was seriously constructing "delusion
games" to mess with my head for his entertainment.

The nervous breakdown led to quitting...so I guess
he can say he was my friend...but the scars?

One of the guys that also used to hang with this group
of "friends" was Mark St John...one of the former
guitar players for Kiss(helped lauch their make-up
less come back in the 80's)..I remember the last time
I hung with those "friends" and seeing Mark come
pedling up on a bicycle, dishevled, with smiley light
bright look(you know that look  ) and thinking
what a nice guy he seemed like...what's he doing here?

I wish I'd a got to know him...by all other accounts he
was very decent human being....and loved teaching
guitar....He died on 4-5-07 of a brain hemorage....
brought on by?..friendship?....probably so.....

Sounds like an interesting story.

I am glad that I never got caught up in that stuff.

Seems like a lot of death & destruction today.

Glad to see you clean and sober, Shloe. It sounds like you were fortunate enough to leave before any serious or permanent damage was done. Sorry to hear the same couldn't be said for this fellow. RIP :(

I was listening to the radio over the weekend (not indie) & they where talking to the producer of a film (I cant remember the name of the film) about the last days of a meth addict. I suppose they filmed him in his last stages of life.

It sounded very interesting and I would rent it if I could remember the name of it. Does anyone know or heard of it?

The best I remember it is 29 days of following him around untill he dies. Interviews with his family & friends etc. Sounds like quite a sad documentary but I am sure eye opening. It was kinda of a scared straight type film and won some festivals? (MAYBE)

Apparantly the guy was 34 when he died and looked to be about 70 or so.

 Maybe if I call the station they will know.
