Three Dog Night...put together some decent compositions
...I know many punkers what agree...If they've a developed
palate

"Never been to Spain"

Well I never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
They say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it
The don't abuse it
Never gonna lose it
I can't refuse it

...what does it matter?

look at all that hair...
there's even a negro
in there!......

They didn't actually "put together" that composition or any of their hits.
"Never Been To Spain" & "Joy To The World" were written by country rocker/actor Hoyt Axton, "One" by Harry Nilsson, "Old Fashioned Love Song" by Paul Williams, "Mama Told me Not To Come" by Randy Newman, "Eli's Coming" by Laura Nyro, "Pieces of April" by Dave Loggins (The "Please Come To Boston" guy) & "Easy To Be Hard" from the musical "Hair". They were the perfect cover band, a throwback to the 50's & early 60's before the days of the singer/songwriter - Dylan, Lennon/McCartney & Jagger/Richards.

I'm home on mid-tour leave right now but I don't get to come home for good until October. So I still have a few more months. At least when I get back there from leave, I will only have 4 more months! WHEW!
