Psh, all morning long I've been looking at the names at the bottom to see what members were actually signed in. I figured no one was on all morning cause I didn't look at the "hidden" and "guest" users. And I actually thought I was alone - little did I know, you're all just sneaky bastards! Festival claims world's longest sausage

Organisers of an annual sausage festival in the Serbian village of Turija say they have made the world's longest sausage, Tanjug news agency reports.

Twelve butchers used the meat of 28 pigs, 40 kilos of paprika, 50 kilos of salt, two kilograms of pepper and five kilograms of garlic to make a sausage 2,020 metres long, the agency said.

They had been preparing the sausage for four days, but "unfortunately, the representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records did not come to register the new world record for the longest sausage," the agency said.

The Kobasicijada [sausage festival] was held in the northern Serbian town this weekend for the 20th time, despite protests by a local chapter of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The church demanded the organisers postpone it as the event came during Lent, the 40-day fast ahead of Easter.

"The festival has always been held in the last week of February and we offer fish and meatless food to Orthodox believers who are fasting," the agency quoted one of the organisers, Miroslav Meduric, as saying.
