Well, I often miss songs on Joneys and have to listen to the rebroadcast, but I'll try.

Here's today's (3-22-05):

Morrissey--Subway Train (into a Munich Air Disaster)

Daft Punk--Human After All
THE HUMAN LEAGUE Human
Ultravox--Vienna
Kansas--Carry On My Wayward Son (good god almighty, Jonesy!)
but wait...
it's followed by reggae/ska...wow. that almost redeems it.

Lee Perry--Bodiskunk? something like that
Johnny Nash--give me lovin
The Black Brothers--hold me tight
Prince Basta--Ten Commandments
The Time--Jungle Love

Studio guest: the wondrous amazing Marianne Faithfull

Marianne Faithfull--Crazy Love

the show ends with:
Do You Ever Think of Me?

Wow, good luck with that. I'd really appreciate seeing what songs he played the rest of the day. Arrrgh...he played Human?! I love that song. I can't believe I missed it. :( It's so cheesy, but great.

haha And then you and he went into an impromptu rendition of Human League's Don't You Want Me over the phone? That would have been great.

-Kevin

MARIANNE FAITHFULL!!!

Oh my god, I adore Marianne Faithfull. I didn't even try for the secret Billy Idol show tickets, cause I love her so much (and am going to her show Friday night). Cannot wait!!!!

Can't wait for the rest of this Jukebox either!

I adore her. That's what I wanna be. A woman of a certain age, living out her days in Paris. That would be the ultimate.

Today's Playlist

by MicheBel
Sorry, kids. My meeting ran long, so I couldn't get the playlist from the beginning today. And if I can't do it perfectly, damn it, I'm not gonna do it at all. :)

Were you able to catch the interview with Goldie Lookin Chain? Man, those guys were hilarious. They had me laughing lots during my lunch. Oh, and if you missed the beginning of the Jukebox, apparently Jonesy wants to trim down his mustache so it looks like an RAF pilot. Steve and Shovel were discussing possible accessories they could get him, including: scarf, goggles, funny hat, black boots, and medals for all the Germans he shot down. Shovel suggested Steve wear this outfit for his Billy Idol gig. I guess only time shall tell.

Any song written about either Roseanna, or any member of the wonderful Arquette family, EVEN if it's written by Toto, is ok with me.

However, my song of the day is Brimful of Asha, thank you very much.

Different day, same great Indie tunes!

well, sorry, folks, you don't get the first half playlist, because they are playing a repeat from a different day. :-(

Well, I'll give it to you anyway, but I think it was a show from July.

Here is the actual link that you can use if you cant get through with the other one:

http://www.headtriparchive.com/jonesey

It probably works better if you right click on the file you want to download and select "save as". Please realize this site is work in progress and it should get better as time goes on.

You do understand...?

Miche Bel all the way! dun dun dun Rosanna, yeahhhhhh!

Ha! Bet you've never had anyone sing you that song before! Or ever wanted anyone to, either.

-Kevin

P.s. Thanks for the links Archiver. I'm listening to 3-17 show right now and I think the quality sounds great. I only get to catch the first 30 mins on my lunch break then go back to being Indie-less, so I appreciate this.

--Miche[/quote]

Are you sure ? , Goldie Looking Chain played Spaceland the 21st and on the 6-7 repeat it was still GLC screwing about swearing way more than Mr. Shovel noticed. And since Hall and Oates havent been on ( that i remember ) Jonesy saying they will be coming on must be later than today.

Show date

Posted: Thu Mar 24, 2005 10:53 am
by MicheBel
Well, Jonesy said at the beginning "when we started this show five months ago," which led me to believe he was talking about July (the show started Feb. 10, 2004). Unless he was just delirious or something.

Can anyone clarify this? I'm totally confused.

Cause also, usually they'll announce if it's a repeat. I missed the beginning so I don't actually know if they did that.

--Miche

In any case: here's what I got from the first half of the show (before the band appeared):
Georgia McCrae--Been So Long
Blow Monkeys--Forbidden Fruit
Marc Bolan
Ken Dodd--Diddy Men

Answer to the Dilemma--

OK, so I was partly right. The answer is the first song was from a July rebroadcast. After that, it was a new show. (Do I listen closely or what?) LOL

Pretty close, if not exactly right on.

Jonesy and Shovel banter a bit about:

* Shovel's dislike of himself on camera
* Jonesy playing football this weekend

Then:
Generation X--Running with the Boss Sound
Jonathan Richman--Radio On
NY Dolls--Back in the Jungle
Mott the Hoople--Drive-In Sister

THE WEDDING PRESENT I'm From Further North Than You
DOVES Almost Forgot Myself
PITTY SING Ctwyl

Third World--96 Degress in the Shade
The Equals--Police on My Back
The Doves--Pounding
John Cale--Mr. Wilson
Dandy Warhols--Lou Reed
Elvis Costello promo
The Ours--Femme Fatale
Fuzzy Logic--If You Don't Want Me To Destroy You
The Son--We Tried ("I"m willing to give up the fight...sometimes it's good enough just to know we tried...no sense in chasing around what we know has died....")
The Golden Virgins--Renaissance Kid
The Fast--Boys Will Be Boys
Supergroupies--Low Blue Flame

(the spaces indicate where there may be some songs missing)
