Devastating news...
Gidge was found dead in her sleep yesterday. As soon as I find out more, I'll let you guys know. I know that she loved all of you guys and had a blast posting here. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that she will be greatly missed. She was one of my best friends and loved her dearly.

Re: Oh no
He's doing as well as can be expected. I was with Himself last night and instead of me comforting him, he was comforting me. I spoke to him a couple of hours and he sounded dazed...understandably.Stuartmm wrote:How is her kid doing ?

Yes, she was at a show and I was told she had a blast. She was definitely out past curfew

At the risk of repeating what you all have already said, I am totally shocked & saddened. My thoughts are with you & all her loved ones. Damn it, I came so close to going last Thursday but I had a bad headache so I stayed home. I regret that I never met her in person so I could give her a great big hug.

I have been thinking about this all day and was moved to tears a little earlier. I cant get it off my mind.
I had the opportunity to meet her several times and she was a cool chick. Full of life, a fun person, lived life to the fullest & tragically cut short. She had a very strong personality. (Irish me thinks)
She will be missed by many I am sure including myself.
I am also thinking about how precisous life is, it can be gone tommorrow with the blink of an eye. You might as well make the most of everyday as if it is your last. Enjoy it. Sometimes it seems harder to do this than to say it like a cliche. When a death comes to someone we know it is if it is a reminder for us to appreciate what we have.

I'm equally saddened and shocked by the news. Gidge has always been and will definitely always will be one of my favorite people here. I was often intrigued by her unique perspective and points of views on just about any and every thing. And of course, she never failed to make me laugh hysterically no matter what she was discussing. She was passionate about things that she hated, but all the more passionate about that which she loved. My prayers go out to her friends and family, especially the Kid.
You will be missed dearly, Gidge.

Sad news
Very, very sorry to hear this news Goochie, you were I know very close to Gidge and were best mates - this will be a sad time for you.
My sympathies go out to the other posters that knew Gidge online here and I suppose on the yahoo group too before the shack and additionally to those that had met her in real life.
Deepest Condolencies and let her have a good Irish send off, with a tilt of the water of life.
Too young, too young...
Chris

The services are on Saturday. If you guys want info, go ahead and either e-mail me or PM me and I'll get them out to you.
And yes, she was Irish. I find it soothing that her services are going to be held on St. Patrick's day...such a Gidge thing to do

oh, this is such awful news.....
I'm in the middle of a really busy tax season and I had no idea until I got Jack's email about the board being moved.
I had the pleasure of hanging out with Gidge on two occasions and just loved her rambunctious spirit. She was one of the coolest chicks I'd ever met - kind of like the all-knowing big sister I never had.
The last time I saw her, as I was leaving, she said, "Love you!" And Gidge, although our friendship was short, I love you too, and I hope you rest in peace.
I'm still in shock.... Gooch I hope you will let us know what the cause was... Did anyone tell Dicky?
wow.......

Hearing the news didn't hit me until now as I'm usually out of it for several hours when I wake up. I miss her already as I'm sure everyone else that she has changed the lives of does as well. At least she had tons and tons of fun while she was here and went peacefully and not tragically like most. ;( And that pic I posted earlier is probably the first time a lot of us had met her. This cheap board probably has even the day and time and place archived at where that pic was taken too. ;( I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm going to slap gidge for filling my trash can with tissue and keeping me awake all night... Grrrr...

All we know that it wasn't traumatic. We should get the blood results back in about 10 weeks. I contacted Dicky and he as all the information about Saturday. I hope he shows up...it would mean the world to her and Himself aka her son.

Thanks for posting that picture jack. I forgot about that. All i remeber from that night was when Gidge was constantly whacking you on the back of the head and calling you "bad jack."
It was a fun night and indicative of how much fun she had fun with life.
This is sad news for sure. My heart goes out to her son.

We've set up an In Lieu of Flowers account for Himself. We kind of figured its silly to spend 50 or more on flowers if that money can be used for something else that Himself may need. If you guys want to make a donation, it would be appreciated. I couldn't set up the Paypal button here, but it was posted on the Adolescents' forum, another forum she frequented.
